04 November 2023 was one such day in the journey of Lakshya Foundation.
Where the Story Began
The seeds of this day were sown weeks earlier at a corporate event of Synechron Technologies at Della Resort, Lonavla. During that gathering, Lakshya Foundation’s Secretary, Hitesh Thakare, had an opportunity to interact with Arnold Aranha.
What began as a conversation soon turned into something deeper.
Arnold listened—not just to numbers or summaries—but to the lived stories:
- of children walking kilometres through forests and broken roads,
- of fatigue setting in before lessons even began,
- of education being quietly abandoned not due to lack of ability, but because distance became unbearable.
He was deeply moved by the work Lakshya Foundation had been doing—especially the Wheels of Hope initiative, which had already begun transforming daily life for students in Lavhali and nearby villages.
And then came a simple but powerful decision.
An Invitation Rooted in Empathy
Arnold extended an invitation that went beyond formality. He invited Lakshya Foundation and 17 new tribal students—students who still carried the daily burden of long, arduous walks to school—to the corporate event of the Flo Group at Radisson Resort, Karjat.
For many of these students, this was their first time entering such a space.
For Lakshya Foundation, it was another moment where two very different worlds chose to meet on equal ground.
A Day of Shared Humanity
At the event, the team encountered the people of Flo Group—individuals who were not only successful but deeply grounded.
There was no distance in conversation.
No hierarchy in interaction.
The students were welcomed warmly. Their stories were heard with patience and respect. The Foundation team felt something rare and reassuring—that empathy was not an exception here, but a culture.
What stood out was not grandeur, but sincerity.
Wheels That Carry More Than Children
On this day, 17 more students received bicycles under the Wheels of Hope initiative.
With this, a quiet but powerful milestone was achieved:
In just two months, 25 tribal students were gifted mobility, dignity, and continuity in education.
Students from:
- Lavhali
- Shikhrepada
- Dharol
- Umbervedhe
- Washivali
would no longer have to:
- walk 3+ kilometres daily,
- risk safety on forest paths,
- or begin each school day already exhausted.
These cycles did not merely reduce distance.
They restored time, energy, confidence, and self-belief.
Parents no longer worried about delayed buses or unsafe roads.
Students no longer feared missing classes because their legs gave up before their minds did.
Impact That Ripples Forward
What unfolded on 04 November 2023 was more than distribution.
It was momentum.
Each bicycle represented:
- a child staying in school,
- a family believing again,
- and a village inching closer to breaking an old cycle of dropout and limitation.
The Wheels of Hope initiative, once an idea, had now become a movement—powered by partnerships, trust, and human connection.

As the day concluded, there was a shared understanding among everyone present:
