Shikhrepada: When Intent Is Spoken, and Hope Learns to Wait
Not every meaningful day ends with bricks laid or paint applied.
Some days are about honesty, clarity, and planting belief without making promises that cannot yet be fulfilled.
25 November 2023 was one such day.
On this day, the Lakshya Foundation team visited the tribal village of Shikhrepada—not to inaugurate a project, not to distribute resources, but to do something equally important: to speak truthfully with the community and to listen deeply.
Returning With Purpose, Not Illusions
Shikhrepada is not new to Lakshya Foundation.
Its school, teachers, and challenges have been part of our surveys and discussions for some time. But after the visible transformation of Z.P. School Lavhali, expectations had naturally begun to rise in nearby villages.
The villagers of Shikhrepada had seen what was possible.
They had seen walls repaired, toilets rebuilt, classrooms filled with light, and dignity restored.
And with that visibility came hope.
On this visit, Shirish Patil met with:
- school teachers,
- village elders,
- parents,
- and youth,
to explain where Lakshya Foundation stands today—and how we intend to move forward.
A Conversation Rooted in Respect
Rather than making quick assurances, Shirish chose a different path.
He spoke openly about:
- the approach Lakshya Foundation follows for school transformation,
- the scale and seriousness such work requires,
- and the reality that sustainable transformation depends on responsible funding, not rushed execution.
The message was clear and respectful:
“We are committed.
We have the intent.
But we will begin work only when we can do it fully, safely, and with dignity.”
The Foundation clarified that:
- efforts are currently underway to approach prospective donors and CSR partners,
- documentation and assessments are being strengthened,
- and once sufficient funds are pooled, the transformation work at Shikhrepada will be initiated in the same structured manner as Lavhali.
This transparency mattered.
Listening to the Village
The teachers spoke candidly about:
- leaky roofs,
- dark classrooms,
- unsafe sanitation,
- and the daily effort required to keep students motivated despite limitations.
Villagers shared their concerns without anger—only fatigue and quiet hope.
What stood out was not complaint, but patience.
They did not ask when.
They asked whether.
And Lakshya Foundation answered that question clearly:
“Yes. Shikhrepada is seen.
Shikhrepada is important.
Shikhrepada will not be forgotten.”
Why This Day Mattered
This visit reinforced something Lakshya Foundation has always believed:
- False hope erodes trust.
- Delayed honesty builds it.
By choosing to be upfront—about timelines, funding realities, and processes—the Foundation strengthened its relationship with the community.
Shikhrepada did not receive a project that day.
But it received something equally valuable:
Clarity. Inclusion. Respect.

On 25 November 2023, Lakshya Foundation stood in Shikhrepada not as benefactors, but as partners who refuse to overpromise and underdeliver.
Transformation will come—but it will come prepared, complete, and worthy of the children who wait.
Because real change is not about speed.
It is about integrity, patience, and doing justice to every village we commit to.
And on this day, Shikhrepada became part of a future that is being built—carefully, responsibly, and together.
