A Celebration with a Difference — Where Freedom Meant Becoming Capable
On 26 January 2024, Lakshya Foundation returned to a place that no longer feels distant—Z.P. School Lavhali.
Once known for its isolation and neglect, Lavhali today stands transformed, not just in brick and mortar, but in confidence and collective pride. What was once a remote tribal village now feels deeply familiar—because distance fades when relationships grow.
As the Lakshya Foundation team—Shirish Patil, Hitesh Thakare, Pravin Savale, Mayuresh Thakare, Lalita Patil, and fellow members—entered the village, there was a quiet realization among us:
the road felt shorter, the journey lighter. Not because geography had changed, but because belonging had.
A Morning of Welcome and Shared Ownership
The village welcomed us warmly. Students stood eager, teachers prepared with smiles, and villagers gathered with a sense of anticipation that can only come when a school truly belongs to its community.
Patriotic songs floated through the air. Children rehearsed their performances. Conversations overlapped with laughter. The atmosphere carried that unmistakable rhythm of a national celebration—but something deeper was at work.
This was not just another Republic Day.
This was Republic Day in a school reborn.
When the Entire Village Walks Together
The patriotic parade began, and this time, the entire village followed.
Children, parents, elders, teachers, and the Lakshya Foundation team walked together through the lanes of Lavhali, waving the tricolour and raising slogans of pride. The air vibrated with energy—less rehearsed, more heartfelt.
It felt symbolic:
a village once hesitant to step forward was now marching together.
Honouring the Nation, Together
At the school ground, Shirish Patil, Principal Mr. Pandurang Shirke, and respected village elders came together to perform the pooja of the Tiranga and hoist the national flag—side by side.
The National Anthem followed, sung in unison.
Not softly. Not out of obligation.
But with confidence.
This was a school that had learned how to stand tall again.
Children at the Centre
The students then took the stage.
They sang group songs, delivered speeches, and performed dances—each act a quiet declaration that they belonged here, that they mattered. Every performance was met with applause and cheers, not just from visitors, but from parents whose eyes reflected something new: belief.
Belief that their children could dream.
Belief that education had a future here.
A Celebration That Went Beyond Ceremony
True to its values, Lakshya Foundation shaped the day around life transformation, not formality.
???? Financial & Life Literacy
Students were introduced to basic business thinking and financial awareness—not as abstract ideas, but as tools for independence. The message was simple yet powerful:
education is not just about passing exams, but about building control over one’s future.
???? Health as a Foundation
Recognizing that learning begins with well-being, Dr. Hemant Chavan (Badlapur) joined the celebration. He conducted health check-ups for all students on site.
His observations were reassuring:
- All students were generally healthy
- A few had minor fever, cold, or vitamin deficiencies
Lakshya Foundation immediately arranged and sponsored the required medicines, ensuring no child was left untreated. The reassurance that followed—“Your children are healthy and safe”—was deeply comforting for parents.
???? Reclaiming Education
A special effort was made to encourage students who had dropped out to return. Conversations were gentle, hopeful, and firm in one belief:
it is never too late to begin again.
What This Day Truly Celebrated
This Republic Day was not about flags alone.
It was about reclaiming rights that matter most:
- the right to learn in dignity
- the right to health
- the right to dream without apology
By celebrating the Constitution, Lakshya Foundation chose to honour it in action—by shaping future citizens who are informed, healthy, and confident.
Closing Reflection
As the day drew to a close, smiles lingered longer than the songs.
The school—once avoided, once ignored—stood proudly as the pride of the taluka.
Lavhali did not just celebrate the Republic.
It lived its promise.
And Lakshya Foundation walked away with renewed conviction:

so they grow, shine, and carry forward a freedom that is meaningful, lasting, and shared.
Republic Day 2024 was not just remembered in Lavhali.
It was felt.
