Independence Day 2024 at Z.P. School Lavhali was not treated as a one-day celebration.
For Lakshya Foundation, it was a milestone in an ongoing journey—a moment to pause, look back at how far the school had come, and reaffirm a promise that began long before flags were hoisted and slogans were raised.
For nearly a year, Lavhali has been at the heart of Lakshya Foundation’s work.
National days like Independence Day and Republic Day have become anchors in this journey—not symbolic events, but checkpoints of transformation. Each visit, each celebration, each return strengthened the bond between the school, the villagers, and the Foundation.
This Independence Day stood out because it carried the weight of that continuity.
A Village on the Move
The day began as Lavhali now knows it best—together.
Students, teachers, youth, elders, and the Lakshya Foundation team gathered early and set out on a patriotic parade through the village. The same paths that once echoed with hesitation now resonated with confident voices chanting patriotic slogans. What once felt remote now felt deeply connected.
The parade was not about formality.
It was about belonging.
Villagers joined spontaneously. Children walked taller. Teachers smiled quietly, watching a school that had once struggled now lead the village forward—quite literally.
The Flag, the Anthem, and New Aspirations
Back at the school premises, the national flag was hoisted, followed by the national anthem, sung with pride that felt earned rather than ceremonial.
Students then took the stage.
Some spoke about freedom and freedom fighters.
Some spoke about their dreams for India.
Some spoke simply—but confidently—for the first time in their lives.
Teachers followed, reminding everyone that education is the truest form of independence, and sharing how the year-long efforts at Lavhali had changed not just the building, but the mindset of parents and children alike.

Creativity as Confidence
To channel this growing self-belief, a drawing competition was organized.
Children were asked to draw their “dreamy world.”
The results were telling.
There were drawings of schools with bright classrooms.
Children using books, computers, and playgrounds.
Villages connected by roads, light, and opportunity.

They were reflections of possibility—something Lavhali’s children are now beginning to feel within reach.
Patriotic songs and speeches followed, each performance greeted with applause that felt less like encouragement and more like recognition.
The Big Surprise: A Digital Step Forward
Then came the moment the students didn’t expect.
As part of its continued focus on digital education, Lakshya Foundation gifted a tablet to Z.P. School Lavhali.
The announcement was met first with silence—then with excitement.
The tablet was not presented as a gadget, but as a tool:
- to access digital learning resources,
- to give children hands-on exposure to technology,
- to ensure that Lavhali’s students are not left behind in a rapidly digital world.
For many students, it would be their first direct interaction with a digital learning device—a small object carrying enormous possibility.
Beyond One School
The narration of the day also placed Lavhali within a larger movement.
It highlighted:
- the recent collaboration with Synechron Technologies, through which 25 computers were donated to 19 tribal Zilla Parishad schools, expanding digital access across remote regions;
- and the parallel transformation underway at Z.P. School Belpada, where similar efforts are reshaping educational infrastructure and confidence.
Lavhali, once an isolated case, is now part of a growing network of hope.
More Than a Celebration
As the program concluded, one thing was clear.
This Independence Day was not about remembering freedom alone.
It was about living it—through education, dignity, access, and continuity.
Smiles on children’s faces.
Pride in teachers’ voices.
Gratitude in villagers’ eyes.
