School & Aanganwadi Survey Phase — Replication Mission (July 2025)

Z.P. School Belpada, Tal. Murbad
Following the successful transformation of Z.P. School Lavhali, Lakshya Foundation formally initiated its replication phase—a long-term effort to survey, document, and eventually transform educational institutions across the Badlapur–Murbad–Mhasa tribal belt.
On 23 July 2023, the Foundation team comprising Shirish Patil, Hitesh Thakare, Pandurang Shirke, Pravin Savale, Mayuresh Thakare, and Lalita Patil visited Z.P. School Belpada, Taluka Murbad.
About the School
- The school currently educates 87 students (as of 2023).
- It functions as a central Z.P. School, catering to students from multiple nearby tribal villages who complete primary education (Grade 4–5) in their local schools and travel to Belpada to continue till Grade 8.
Key Observations
- The earlier school building was declared beyond repair, following which a new two-floor structure was constructed by the Zilla Parishad.
- Alarmingly, within a year, the new building has developed serious issues:
- Severe roof leakage, with rainwater percolating from the top floor down to the ground floor
- No electrical infrastructure—absence of wiring, lights, fans, or tube lights
- Fallen plaster at several locations, raising safety concerns
- During monsoons, classrooms become damp and dark, directly affecting learning conditions.
Why This School Matters
Belpada is not just another village school—it is a continuation point for children from several tribal hamlets.
If this school fails to provide a safe and motivating environment, the entire educational chain breaks, risking dropouts at a crucial age.
The team conducted detailed visual documentation and discussed possible intervention scopes.
This visit was part of multiple follow-ups already conducted at Belpada, reinforcing the urgency of action.

These visits are not isolated inspections.
They are the first structured step in Lakshya Foundation’s long-term mission to ensure that every tribal child learns in a space that is safe, dignified, and inspiring.
What Lavhali proved is that:
Transformation is possible—even in the most neglected corners—when intent is serious and execution is honest.
The surveys conducted in July 2025 are laying the groundwork for the next phase of replication, partnerships, and systemic change across the tribal belt.
This journey will be long.
But it has already begun.
