SHARING THE VILLAGE STORY
26th April 2015 – Introducing Nambarwadi to Friends of Change
At Lakshya Foundation, every new visitor is an opportunity — not for applause, but for connection. On 26th April 2015, we welcomed one such guest: a friend of our chief trustee, Shirish Patil (SPP), who was curious to see the work, mission, and the lives we touch.
The day began at our Badlapur office, where introductions were brief and sincere. From there, we proceeded to Nambarwadi village, our familiar yet ever-inspiring canvas of rural life.
A Walk Through the Village
We guided our guest through the heart of the village, showing the Samajmandir, the Aanganwadi, and the Z.P. School. Each space told a story:
- of children rediscovering education,
- of villagers quietly supporting each other,
- and of small steps that together mean progress.
Candid photographs were taken along the way — most memorably, SPP and his friend posing in front of a hut, capturing the simplicity and dignity of daily village life.
The Voice of Children
At the Aanganwadi, all the children gathered together. Their bright eyes, shy smiles, and tiny voices formed a chorus of hope and enthusiasm.
A few of the children even performed a group song, a humble yet powerful reflection of their learning, their joy, and the warmth they receive through the Foundation’s support. It was a reminder that every small gesture of encouragement has tangible impact.
A Humble Appreciation
Our guest’s response was measured but heartfelt. He appreciated the work, lauded the mission, and acknowledged the potential of every small step taken by Lakshya Foundation.
We did not see it as praise. We saw it as validation of what consistent effort and sincere intent can achieve — the kind of support that encourages us to continue walking alongside these communities, with nothing but education, care, and opportunity as our guiding principles.
The day ended quietly, yet profoundly.
It reaffirmed a truth we hold dear: sharing the lives and stories of these villages is as important as the work itself. Through understanding, empathy, and partnership, change grows stronger and more sustainable.
