Wheels of Hope: When Distance Was Replaced by Dignity
On 30 September 2023, a quiet but deeply meaningful milestone unfolded in Lakshya Foundation’s journey of educational access and equity. What began as conversations around infrastructure and learning environments matured into something equally critical—the challenge of reaching school itself.
For many tribal students, education does not begin in a classroom.
It begins with a long walk through forests, uneven roads, and isolated paths, often stretching five kilometres or more each way, just to attend secondary school.
Recognising this invisible yet powerful barrier, Lakshya Foundation conceptualised “Wheels of Hope”—an initiative aimed at removing the physical distance that silently pushes children out of education.
Synechron Steps Forward
Through sustained collaboration and first-hand exposure to ground realities, Synechron Technologies developed a deep understanding of both:
- the educational challenges faced by tribal communities, and
- the impact Lakshya Foundation has been able to create, particularly in villages like Lavhali.
Moved by the Foundation’s long-term vision and the lived realities of students, Synechron Technologies extended their support by donating 8 bicycles to 8 needy tribal students—students who otherwise walked daily through forest routes to reach schools in Belpada for higher education.
This gesture was not symbolic.
It was practical, thoughtful, and life-altering.
An Invitation Beyond Donation
To mark this support, Synechron Technologies invited Lakshya Foundation and the beneficiary students to their corporate event in Lonavala—a moment of intersection between two very different worlds, brought together by shared purpose.
Representing Lakshya Foundation were:
- Secretary Mr. Hitesh Thakare,
- Volunteers Manish and Ganesh,
- Along with the students from Lavhali village, whose daily journeys to school had inspired this initiative.
For the students, this was more than a trip—it was an exposure to a space they had never imagined entering. For the Foundation team, it was an opportunity to share the story of Lavhali’s transformation, a village that once struggled with crumbling classrooms and now stood as a symbol of what collaboration can achieve.
A Moment of Exchange and Recognition
The atmosphere at the event was warm, inclusive, and reflective.
Students were welcomed not as beneficiaries, but as young individuals with stories worth hearing.
The Lakshya Foundation team shared how:
- Lavhali’s school transformation had restored confidence in education,
- access challenges still remained beyond infrastructure,
- and how something as simple as a bicycle could protect a child’s continuity in learning.
The students, though quiet, carried visible excitement. The idea that their daily struggle was seen, understood, and addressed left a lasting impression.

Impact That Moves Forward
With these bicycles:
- 8 students no longer have to walk through forest paths,
- daily commute time is reduced,
- fatigue and safety risks are minimised,
- and school attendance becomes sustainable.
More importantly, a message was sent—distance should never decide destiny.
Looking Ahead
The Wheels of Hope initiative reflects Lakshya Foundation’s evolving approach:
after restoring classrooms, we now ensure children can reach them.
This day reaffirmed that:
- true CSR impact lies in listening closely,
- meaningful change often comes through simple solutions,
- and partnerships grounded in empathy can remove barriers that statistics often overlook.
On 30 September 2023, hope did not arrive as a speech or a promise.
It arrived on two wheels, ready to roll forward—one school day at a time.
