When Dignity Determines Attendance
The final visit of the day was to Z.P. School Washivali, a school Lakshya Foundation has closely observed due to its proximity to Lavhali.
Purpose of the Visit
This visit concentrated on sanitation, dignity, and daily usability, especially for young children and girls.
Ground Reality
Teachers shared candidly:
- girls’ toilets are severely damaged,
- boys’ toilets were never constructed,
- the kitchen is unsafe, with large cracks in walls,
- classrooms remain persistently dark and damp,
- doors and windows are broken,
- absence of boundary walls exposes the school to animal intrusion.
Frequent load shedding further disrupts routine.

Parents spoke quietly about hesitation—particularly for girl children.
Students pointed out broken doors and dark corners—small details that silently communicate neglect.
Reflection
Washivali reinforced a foundational belief of Lakshya Foundation:
Without dignity, education cannot thrive.
