International Yoga Day at Z.P. School Lavhali

One Earth. One Health. One Community.

On the morning of 21 June 2025, as the first light of day touched the hills around Lavhali, Z.P. School Lavhali quietly transformed into a space of stillness, breath, and collective awareness.

Lakshya Foundation reached the village at sunrise, accompanied by Anju Madam from Anju’s Yoga Hub, carrying with them a simple intention—to introduce children to a way of living that balances body, mind, and discipline.

Present from the Lakshya Foundation team were Shirish Patil, Hitesh Thakare, Mayuresh Thakare, Jigisha Savale, Dheyanshi Savale, and Lalita Patil. Waiting for us at the school were Principal Mr. Pandurang Shirke, Teacher Mrs. Charushila Mahajan, and students who had gathered with curiosity and quiet excitement.

Yoga as a Shared Experience

As mats were laid out and students formed neat rows in the school premises, the atmosphere shifted from routine to reflection.

Under the gentle guidance of Anju Madam, the session began—not rushed, not performative, but holistic. Children were introduced to basic asanas, breathing techniques, and the importance of posture, focus, and calmness. Instructions were delivered patiently, with emphasis on listening to one’s body rather than competing with others.

Teachers and members of Lakshya Foundation joined the students on the mat.

There was no separation between facilitators and learners—only people moving and breathing together.

This simple act created a powerful message: health is not taught, it is practiced together.

A Moment of Stillness in a Moving World

As the session progressed, a rare quiet settled over the school.

Children who are usually full of energy learned to pause.

Breaths became deeper.

Movements more mindful.

In that stillness, something important took root.

Yoga was no longer an exercise—it became an introduction to self-awareness.

Support That Makes It Meaningful

The success of the session was made possible through the wholehearted cooperation of:

  • Anju’s Yoga Hub, for bringing professional guidance with warmth and simplicity
  • Teachers Mr. Pandurang Shirke and Mrs. Charushila Mahajan, whose constant encouragement ensured enthusiastic student participation
  • The School Management Committee, whose support reinforced the importance of holistic education

Their collective involvement ensured that this was not an external activity, but a school-owned experience.

More Than a Day’s Celebration

International Yoga Day 2025 at Z.P. School Lavhali was not treated as a symbolic observance.

It was approached as a starting point.

A seed was planted—of:

  • better health,
  • improved focus,
  • emotional balance,
  • and discipline that can last a lifetime.

For Lakshya Foundation, this day reaffirmed a belief we hold strongly:

Education is incomplete without well-being.

As the session concluded and smiles returned to young faces, it was clear that something subtle yet meaningful had been achieved.

Not transformation that shouts—but change that stays.

Yoga for One Earth. One Health.

And for one school that continues to grow—not just in infrastructure, but in awareness, balance, and care.
